Scams are on the rise We’ve seen an increase in reports of utility imposter scams where someone claiming to be from the Town of Landis is calling and asking for immediate payment to avoid disconnection. For your protection, remember, we will never:
Call and threaten immediate disconnection if payment isn’t made.
Demand payment information via email.
Without prior written notice, demand immediate payment and threaten disconnection within the hour.
Go door-to-door collecting past due balances.
Demand immediate payment to be made using wire transfer, prepaid gift card or fund transfer app.
