Citizens of the Town of Landis, please protect yourselves from Utility Switch Scams. Scammers may contact you claiming they can lower your electricity bills by switching providers. Don’t fall for it!
🔴 How the Scam Works:
⚠️ The scammer asks for your current energy provider account number or even a photo of your entire bill.
⚠️ They may switch your provider without your consent, leading to multiple bills or disruption in service.
⚠️ Or, they may use your personal information for identity theft.
✅ Protect Yourself:
🔹 Never share your account information, bill, or personal details with unknown callers.
🔹 Verify directly with your utility provider if someone contacts you about switching services.
🔹 Report suspicious calls to local authorities.
