Volunteer for the Landis Police Dept.

Volunteers can be an important part of any organization and are proven to be an asset to law enforcement agencies. Volunteers help to increase police responsiveness, service delivery, and information input, and they provide new program opportunities. In addition, volunteers can bring new skills and expertise to the job and prompt new enthusiasm. It is the policy of the Landis Police Department to use qualified volunteers for specified tasks and duties that can create efficiencies for the department and improve services to the community. Volunteers are intended to supplement and support, rather than supplant, sworn officers and civilian personnel.

If you are interested in volunteering with the Landis Police Department, please contact us to obtain an application and learn more about available opportunities for volunteers and interns.

Collision Reports

The location of a crash determines which law enforcement agency investigates the accident. The Landis Police Department investigates only those collisions which occur within the corporate limits of the Town of Landis. Collisions within the corporate limits of a neighboring municipality, including China Grove and Kannapolis, are investigated by that city’s police department. All collisions that occur in unincorporated areas are investigated by the North Carolina State Highway Patrol.

Based on pending litigation in the state concerning the Federal Driver’s Privacy Protection Act and law enforcement agencies release of collision reports, the Landis Police Department will no longer be able to provide members of the public with DMV-349 reports. All requests for DMV-349 collision reports should be directed to the NC DMV.

Individuals who are directly involved in and listed on a collision report may receive a copy of the collision report from the Landis Police Department, in-person only. Please call 704-857-2129 or send an e-mail to inbox@landispolice.com to arrange a time to pick-up your collision report.

You may follow the link below for information on how to obtain a collision report from the NC DMV.
