❄️Winter Weather Preparation❄️
The Town of Landis is preparing for another round of winter weather expected this weekend. While this system is not expected to be as severe as the recent ice storm, hazardous road conditions and freezing temperatures are still a concern.
In preparation for the anticipated snow or ice, the Town of Landis Public Works Department is actively brining town roads. Brine is a salt-and-water solution applied as a pre-treatment to help prevent snow and ice from bonding to road surfaces, improving safety for both drivers and crews.
Safety Reminders:
• Do NOT use generators inside enclosed or partially enclosed spaces, including garages, vehicles, sheds, or porches. Generators must be placed outdoors and away from windows.
• Keep space heaters at least 3 feet away from anything that can burn.
• Layer clothing, stay warm, and check on neighbors when possible.
Outage Reporting:
If you experience a power outage, please do not call emergency services. Report outages by calling Town Hall at 704-857-2411.
Please continue to monitor our social media pages, the My Landis app, or visit www.townoflandisnc.gov for the latest updates and important information.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation. Staying home when possible helps keep our crews safe and allows them to respond more efficiently.
