Founded in 1875, the NC Grange is an agriculturally based organization dedicated to helping farmers and future farmers succeed through resources, education, skills, funding, and community support. Their impact reaches far beyond agriculture — from helping create FFA and 4H, to offering scholarships for students, providing insurance programs to members, and aiding during disasters across the state. Each year, they recognize outstanding service with civic awards at their state convention.

This year, our department was chosen as the State Fire Department of the Year. This choice was based on the size of our department, the population we serve, the number of calls we answer each year, and the educational and service programs we proudly provide to our community.

Fire Chief Jason Smith shared:
